How to choose between the one-hour and three-hour tour

Choose the one-hour ride when you want a shorter stretch on the water and a first look at the self-drive format. Choose the three-hour adventure when you want more time following the Mystic River toward nearby coastal water. Both tours use the same basic setup: you drive a two-seat mini powerboat and follow a local guide in a separate vessel.

Compare the published per-person rates before you call. The one-hour tour lists $110 per person for parties of one to five and $100 for groups of six to eight. The three-hour trip lists $210 and $190 per person for those same group bands. Ask the team to confirm current season dates, rates, and departure times.

Where to meet for a Mystic boat tour

Mystic Boat Adventures departs from 145 Pearl Street in Noank, Connecticut, behind Costello’s Clam Shack. Noank is south of downtown Mystic, so allow time to drive to the departure point rather than navigating to the center of town.

Arrive at least 40 minutes before the scheduled departure for check-in and the 20–25-minute safety and boat-operation briefing. If paying at the dock on the day of your tour, arrive 45 minutes early. Free parking is listed at the departure location.

What first-time mini powerboat drivers should know

You do not need a boating license for the published tours, but each driver must be 18 or older and show a valid driver’s license. Passengers must be at least eight. Each guest boat requires two people, and the published weight limit is 250 pounds per person.

The guide provides life jackets and a 20–25-minute briefing before the group heads out. The small boats include a cooler with two bottles of water. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are welcome; alcohol is prohibited. Call if you have questions about how your group fits the boat requirements.
